Information and Communication Technology is essential for qualitative improvement of an educational institution. The College offers a comprehensive range of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) facilities to support students and faculty in their academic endeavors. The campus is equipped with robust ICT infrastructure including high-speed internet connectivity, Wi-Fi coverage across the entire campus, and state-of-the-art networking equipment. This ensures seamless connectivity and access to digital resources for students, faculty, and staff. There is 24*7 internet and Wi-Fi connection available for the staff and students. There are Over Head Projectors (OHP) for all departments, audio-visual equipment like tape-recorder, television, CDs and DVDs, DVD player, microphones (Collar and wireless), speakers, amplifier. All these resources are well utilized to make teaching-learning meaningful.
Wi-Fi Enabled Campus
Ekamra College campus has been made WI-FI enabled and the facility is accessible to all. The Campus has a 1 GBPS internet connectivity of BSNL terminated at the Computer Centre. The Wi-Fi Network connectivity is available in almost every part of the campus. For the security and safety of the campus-wide LAN setup, the gateway lab is equipped with high-end Routers, firewalls, etc.
Smart classrooms for teaching-learning
To improve the quality of the teaching and learning process, the use of ICT-enabled teaching-learning environments is necessary. Classrooms are equipped with projectors and audio-visual systems that allow teachers to deliver engaging multimedia presentations. Students can use laptops or tablets to access digital textbooks, educational apps, and online resources during lectures. Teachers are now regularly scheduling classes in these rooms to make the teaching-learning process more effective.
Video conferencing system
The College has one high-quality Video Conferencing facility to facilitate online official meetings, conferences, project assessment, remote class participation, etc. These facilities have been extensively used during and post-pandemic periods.
E-learning Platforms
The campus utilizes e-learning platforms or learning management systems (LMS) where course materials, assignments, quizzes, and discussion forums are hosted online. Students can access these platforms from anywhere, anytime, allowing for flexibility in learning.
Library Automation
Library automation in college libraries refers to the use of technology to streamline and enhance library operations and services. This typically involves the implementation of a library management system (LMS) or integrated library system (ILS) which centralizes various library functions such as cataloging, circulation, acquisitions, and patron management. All the documents received by the library are catalogued using the catalogue module of the software. Moreover, the library create/edit/delete/search user records renew membership and also establish relationship between the user and resources by creating transaction records through circulation module of the software.
